Launch of the Electronic Archive of Authentic Acts

The Electronic Archive of Authentic Acts was launched successfully on 1 January 2022.

The German Federal Chamber of Notaries operates an archiving system which archives authentic acts electronically. This electronic archive consists of the directory of authentic acts, the directory of procedures and the register of authentic acts.

On 1 January 2022, the directory of authentic acts and the directory of procedures were launched as planned. As a result, the documentation of notarial acts and safekeeping activities is now carried out purely electronically. The electronic register of authentic acts will be placed into operation from 1 July 2022, meaning all notarial documents will then be digitalised and stored electronically for 100 years. The Electronic Archive of Authentic Acts thus represents a further milestone in the digitalisation of the German notarial profession.

Further information on the electronic archive is available in German at https://www.elektronisches-urkundenarchiv.de
