The General Assembly

• takes the decisions of the Bundesnotarkammer according to Section 83 para. 1 of the Federal Code for Notaries (Bundesnotarordnung) and

• appoints the Executive Committee of the Bundesnotarkammer according to Section 81 para. 1 of the Bundesnotarordnung.

The Presidents of the 21 chambers of notaries form the General Assembly.. The number of votes of the chambers of notaries is determined by the number of inhabitants of the district for which they have been established (§ 86 para. 2 BNotO).

The General Assembly meets at least twice a year.

All members of the General Assembly of the Bundesnotarkammer work on an honorary basis.
